1 Why Night's Edge Is Your First Real Weapon
The Night's Edge is the strongest Pre-Hardmode sword — and a required ingredient for the legendary Terra Blade and ultimately the Zenith. It combines the power of four biome-specific swords into one blade with a sweeping dark energy attack.
At 42 damage with a wide swing arc, the Night's Edge carries you through the Wall of Flesh fight and into early Hardmode. But more importantly, it's a key ingredient in the crafting chain that leads to the Terra Blade, True Night's Edge, and eventually the Zenith.

4 Optimal Collection Route
Follow this order to minimize backtracking and maximize efficiency.
① Jungle: Blade of Grass
Explore Underground Jungle → Collect 12 Jungle Spores (grow on grass) + 12 Stingers (Hornets) → Craft at Iron Anvil
② Dungeon: Muramasa
Defeat Skeletron → Enter Dungeon → Kill Dungeon Slimes for Golden Keys → Open Locked Gold Chests → Find Muramasa
③ Underworld: Fiery Greatsword
Mine Hellstone in Underworld (needs 60%+ pickaxe power) → Mix with Obsidian at Hellforge → Make 20 Hellstone Bars → Craft Fiery Greatsword
④ Evil Biome: Light's Bane / Blood Butcherer
Defeat Eater of Worlds / Brain of Cthulhu → Mine Demonite/Crimtane Ore → Smelt into Bars → Craft your world's evil sword

5 ⚠ Gotcha Tips — Don't Waste Your Time
These mistakes will waste hours. Read this before you start.
Corruption worlds make Light's Bane. Crimson worlds make Blood Butcherer. You CANNOT craft the other. If you need the other, create a new world or trade with a friend.
You MUST defeat Skeletron to enter the Dungeon. Talk to the Old Man at Dungeon entrance at night to summon him.
Hellstone requires 60% pickaxe power (Nightmare/Deathbringer Pickaxe or better). You get these from defeating Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu.
Night's Edge requires a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar — the purple/red altars found in Corruption/Crimson. You can't craft it at a normal Anvil.
6 🎁 Free Benefits — Loot You Pick Up Along the Way
While collecting materials, you'll pass through biomes full of valuable drops. Don't leave empty-handed.
While getting Blade of Grass: Find Bezoar (Ankh Shield!), Feral Claws, Boomstick, Life Crystals, and explore bee hives for Queen Bee.
While getting Muramasa: Collect Golden Keys, find Shadow Key, get Band of Regeneration/Starpower, and stockpile Bones.
While mining Hellstone: Find Shadow Chests (unique weapons), collect Fireblossom, grab Obsidian Rose (lava immunity), and find Hellforge.
Defeating Eater of Worlds/Brain: Drops Shadow Scale/Tissue Sample (armor), enables Meteorite to land (Space Gun ammo!), and unlocks Goblin Tinkerer (Rocket Boots!).
