4 Optimal Collection Route
Follow this order to minimize backtracking and maximize efficiency.
① Pre-Hardmode: Craft Night's Edge
Collect the 4 biome swords: Blade of Grass (Jungle) + Muramasa (Dungeon) + Fiery Greatsword (Underworld) + Light's Bane/Blood Butcherer (Crimson/Corruption). Combine at Demon Altar.
② Hardmode: Get Hallowed Bars
Defeat all 3 Mechanical Bosses (Destroyer, Twins, Skeletron Prime) → Mine Hallowed Ore → Smelt into Hallowed Bars (12 needed) → Craft Excalibur
③ Solar Eclipse: Broken Hero Swords
Wait for Solar Eclipse (5% chance daily post-Mech) → Defeat Mothron (spawns late in eclipse) → Get 2 Broken Hero Swords (25% drop, need 2) → Also drops from Frankenstein/Swamp Thing (lower rate)
④ Final Assembly
Craft True Excalibur (Excalibur + Broken Hero Sword)

5 ⚠ Gotcha Tips — Don't Waste Your Time
These mistakes will waste hours. Read this before you start.
Solar Eclipse has only 5% daily chance after first Mech Boss. Mothron is tough — build a good arena. Stockpile Battle Potions and buffs.
Many players stop at 1. You need 2 total — one for True Excalibur, one for True Night's Edge. Keep farming until you have both.
Crimson worlds get Blood Butcherer. Corruption worlds get Light's Bane. You CANNOT get the other world's sword in your world. Trade with a friend or create another world.
Mothron won't appear immediately. The eclipse must progress to about 50-75% before it spawns. Don't panic if you don't see it right away.
6 🎁 Free Benefits — Loot You Pick Up Along the Way
While collecting materials, you'll pass through biomes full of valuable drops. Don't leave empty-handed.
While farming Jungle Spores: Get Bezoar (Ankh Shield material!), Vine, Stingers, and explore for Life Fruit (post-Plantera).
While getting Golden Keys: Farm Armor Polish, Nazar, and Band of Starpower/Regeneration. Plus find Ectoplasm post-Plantera.
Mining Hellstone: Get Fireblossom, Obsidian, find Hellforge, explore Shadow Chests, and grab Lava Charm if lucky.
While hunting Broken Hero Swords: Mothron drops Mothron Wings (great wings!) and Broken Bat Wing. Other mobs drop Death Sickle (rare but powerful melee weapon).
